CHERRY JAM WITH PITS

Ingredients:

cherries – 1 kg

sugar – 1 kg

water – 100 ml

Prepare all the ingredients for the jam. Pour the cherries onto the table, sort them out, removing any damaged ones, and place them in a large bowl or directly in the kitchen sink.

Carefully wash the cherries. Transfer the fruits to a table lined with paper towels. Let them dry thoroughly. Excess liquid is absolutely unnecessary in this case.

Cook the sugar syrup for the jam. To do this, pour sugar into a large enamel saucepan and fill it with drinking water. Put it on medium heat and, stirring, bring it to a boil. Cook for 5 minutes.

Add cherries with pits. Bring to a boil again. Cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes, skimming off foam periodically. Pour cherry jam into dry sterilized jars and roll up. Turn over onto a folded towel and let cool.
